As a crucial part of the project for sending Kenyan workers to Japan , MOL Kenya, LaMP, Silver RayHR, and a new partner from Caregate (who is also the very first Kenyan with an SSW 1 visa!), came together at a meeting with the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, a division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There we were welcomed by the team led by Principle Secretary Roseline Njogu, who work tirelessly to increase and improve work opportunities for Kenyans abroad. We presented our project to the Diaspora Affairs team and had discussions on the types of visas available for foreign workers and their requirements, sectors in need of workers, and the current initiatives by the GoK, such as KaziMajuu, an online platform with job postings from different parts of the world.

The PS and her team received warmly our interest in the collaboration with Kenya and expressed commitment to work towards structured and formal pathways for recruitment. we are excited to see the results of this collaboration and its impact on the labour mobiliy of Kenyans to Japan.
